Gebraut von 6 Brauereien der Bierkulturregion Niederbayern.

Paukenschlag is a beer cuvée made from strong beers from six breweries that belong to the Lower Bavaria Beer Culture Region Community: Aldersbach Brewery, Apostelbräu Hauzenberg, Bucher Bräu Grafenau, Hutthurm Brewery, Erste Dampfbierbrauerei, Zwiesel and Lang Bräu

The Paukenschlag is a beer specialty in a deep chestnut brown and with a scent of espresso, almond biscuits, ripe plums, dried fruit and toffee. It tastes wonderfully balanced with malt, dark chocolate and dried fruit. A subtle sweetness and a distinctive, light hop note accompany the finish. The base beers and the balance are a complex matter. No fewer than 7 different types of hops and 10 different malts are used in the cuvée and had to be brought into a harmonious balance. The brewers paid just as much attention to the various sensory moments of drinking pleasure as they did to the ingredients. The type of glass, the feel and appearance of the "packaging" and the sound of the opening and unpacking played an equally important role when it came to the drinking experience as a whole. Nothing seemed better suited to this than filling the Paukenschlag cuvée in a stylish can and thus exploiting the full range of sensory elements.

The can is as light as a balloon and its walls are as thin as a human hair. This makes it the perfect companion for hiking as well as for outdoor barbecues. Thanks to its stylish design, it also looks great on a festively laid table - a little courage to leave the mainstream of table culture is required at this point. Last but not least, the light-tight can protects the aromas better than any other container. Hops in particular are very sensitive to UV and the can prevents the notorious light taste. Statistics show that 99.1 percent of the cans sold in Germany are returned and recycled via the deposit system. Incidentally, it was the Gottfried Krueger Brewery from New Jersey in the USA that first brought beer in cans onto the market in 1935 and sold 200 million beers in cans in the first year. Since then, its "birth" has been commemorated every year on January 24th with World Beer Can Day.

Bernsteinfarben. Leichte Trübung. Schaumentwicklung eher gering. - 1. Can at Gasthof zum Sonnenwald, Schöfweg after a walk from the house Sunday 9th June 2024. Pours dark brown, reddish brown with a white/off white head that rapidly disappeared. Notes of caramel and toffee, these also show in the mouth, it's got a dark sticky fruit vibe, tastes like a Bock. Good, just checked and it is a Bock.
