Pours beautiful yellow, slightly hazy, bit of white foam. Aroma is fresh and fruity, ume (plum) is coming out but is not very strong, just enough to create that sour-fruity balance against grainy malt backbone. This is also reflected in taste, lots of ume fruit giving a bitor sour acidity and then everything succumbs to a soft malty finish and dry bready ume linger. Totally a summer beer.

Some grass and lettuce, noble hops. Strange lemony sourness, some dust. More sourness in the finish. Meh.

330ml bottle (bottled 20th June 2015) shared with a friend at home on 15th Aug 2016: so slightly out of date. Mini-haze to the golden yellow body, white head. fruity nose and taste with a citrus leaning. Easy drinking and fairly interesting.

2014 late summer review. On tap at Craft Beer Market Jimbocho. Cloudy golden orange color with huge off-white head. Big plum aroma with hints of orange zest, lime and other citrus. Plum, and slight biscuity malt tastes are present. Fairly sweet on the palate as it settles into room temperature. Thin body with watery mouthfeel. Floral and fruit notes remain throughout. --- Beer merged from original tick of Japan Tale Ale (日本物語エール) on 26 Aug 2015 at 08:55 - Score: 7

A fruit beer made with plum. 5.5% a super cloudy straw gold with a fluffy white head & a fresh plum aroma. The flavor is a mild zesty plum but the mouthfeel is thin & a bit watery with low carbonation. Zesty citrus that mellows into plum. Decent but it needs a bit more body & carbonation. Near the end of my glass the sweetness was getting slightly cloying but overall very nice.

Pours very pale straw with a fading head.Nose shows some funk and sweet stonefruit along with faint wheat.Acidic flavours, but with doughy notes underneath and the faintest hint of more stonefruit. Very drinkable but not all that interesting.Needs more carbonation.
