0.33 l bottle. Hazy amber color, no head. Nice smoked aroma, scents of bacon. Add some sweetness to the aroma and that’s the taste. Overall bit watery but that’s maybe because had it a day after the best before date.

Slightly hazy amber and copper coloured body with a thin, very fast-dying head that starts at a small layer and ends up with nothing. Aroma of lightly smoked meats, some bacon, a touch of caramelised sugars, some toffee and a larger dose of alcohol and pungent smoked peat near the end. Medium-bodied; Assertive meaty and smoked flavour at first with a relatively thin malt profile with a light sweetness and a dose of nuts and earth near the back end that ends relatively thinly. Aftertaste shows some nuts, caramel and a lot of smoked peat and light meaty and mushroomy notes with only a little bit of alcohol and malt noticeable, this one is actually relatively thin. Overall, a decent and interesting beer that shows the smoked notes more than any malt, so the smoked flavours show more given that there isn't any malt for them to stand on, and the alcohol isn't too strong, so it still goes down a bit easy, just relatively simple and one-dimensional - smoked peat. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Beer Odalom in Budapest, Hungary on 24-March-2016 for HUF740, sampled at home in Washington on the other side of the pond on a rainy, Spring day on 17-May-2018, a bit more than two years after purchase. It seems that this beer was 'best before' 25-May-2016', given that I purchased it before this date that was printed on the label (I can't read Hungarian).

Közepes, nem túl tartós hab, barna szín. Illata kissé karamelles, lágeres. Se a füstöt, se a búzát nem érzem. Karamellel indít, majd előtör a füstölés. Alattuk végig a maláta és a búza ül. Kissé fanyar és a whisky indítására emlékeztet. Testes, de nem nehéz. Utóíze fanyar, füstös és icipicit kesernyés. Jó harmóniával rendelkező sör.

0.33l bottle. Hazy deep orange body, thin but lasting white head. The aroma is slightly smoky upfront, then ripe banana, bread and toast appears with maybe some peach. Taste of smoke, tobacco, banana, bread and some earthy hops. A bit thin but otherwise a very nice beer. Interesting choice to release a smoked beer for Christmas, that’s for sure. I look forward to the recipes they’ll post to pair this beer with.
