New version at 3.8% ABV and in bottle form (500ml). As the name suggests, this poured an amber colour, an off-white head sat on top. Light malty lead in both the nose and taste, but a bit bland and uninteresting to be honest. Glad it didn’t cost much.

Bottle. Clear dark amber sporting a small white head. Mild aroma of malts and toffee. Taste of malts, herbs, toffee, caramel with hints of citrus fruits. Moderate bitterness. Low to medium carbonation. Watery. It was a bargain so I thought I’d revisit an old classic but (un-)fortunately it’s exactly as I remembered.

50cl bottle. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - toffee and biscuit. Taste - more of the same. Some light lemon. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - solid but not special.

Bottle at home in northern Ireland. Clear golden coloured pour with a fleeting small white head. Aroma is caramel malts, berry, light dried fruit, little nutty. Flavour is composed of caramel, light twiggy malts, orange peel, light dried fruits, bit of chalky water. Palate is semi sweet, bit thin, moderate carbonation. Meh.
