Bottle from New Quay Honey Farm. Pale golden colour. The whiff is not so great - a bit like honey mixed with Tixylix kid's cough mixture. However, the flavour is much nicer - the gorgeous New Quay pure set honey dominates (I had a jar of their honey too and it was superb) with a fresh creamy butter note. The ginger is mild; it doesn't overwhelm but just adds a subtle warmth. Floral notes and lemon come through in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is superb - it's just so smooth, and it's dangerously easy to drink. Overall an excellent mead, just let down a bit by the odd aroma.

200ml bottle, courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Pale yellow gold colour, no head and aroma of honey, ginger, booze. Taste is sweet honey, floral, caramel, with light gingery hints, and boozey notes. Syrupy mouthfeel, full bodied, low carbonation, lingering sweet honey & ginger warming finish. Nicely sippable.

18/3/2019. Bottle from Crafty Bottle, Lincoln. Pours clear very pale yellow gold with no head. Aroma of ginger, honey, golden syrup, chocolate and a hint of peppermint. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Thick syrupy body, sticky texture, soft to flat carbonation. A mellow ginger warmth develops, going well with the sweetness of the honey. Enjoyed this.

Golden color, hazy. Smell of ginger, and cleaning alcohol, some chemicals. Very sweet, sugary; honey syrup with some ginger flavor, but also a light herbal touch; light bitterness in the final, and high alcohol perception. Messy.

Bottled. An amber beer mead. The aroma has notes of ginger, honey, and herbs. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, honey, ginger, and straw, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.
