A porter for lager lovers. Brewed with a blend of malts for a spectrum of coffee, toast and chocolate notes. This dark, medium-bodied beer is built upon a biscuit base with caramel character. English hops deliver a classic spicy character with a touch of fruitiness.

Bottle from The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Baltic porter eh? Quite a low ABV for the style, still I suppose the Baltic is pretty damned cold, 🥶! Nose is toffee, caramel, raisin, cola. Taste is chocolate, raisin, toffee, cola, light smoke. Malty sweet finish.

Thin beige head on a reddish brown body. Malt & coffee aroma. Medium bodied, lively & thinning out to a dry back. Coffee, malt, toffee & citrus tastes with a tangy finish. Nice enough.

Okay if a bit thin all round.

Tap at mad Squirrel watford. A clear dark brown coloured pour with ruby red hues and a lasting beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, dusty earth, mellow roast, dried fruits hint of cherry, bark. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, toasted brown bread, rye bread, little thin, mellow earthy roast, liquorice light spice in the finish. Palate is semi sweet, little thin, watery, fine carbonation. Interesting, but a baltic needs more ooumf.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Clapton Craft OG. Pours clear red-brown with a creamy, light khaki head. Light sweet flavour with notes of toasted brown bread, milk chocolate, nuts, biscuits, burnt caramel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, more cocoa, soft roast, earth, nutty notes, toasted caramel and brown bread. Pretty smooth.
