500ml bottle from Eide Handel. Shiny copper coloured body. Off-white head with fine retention. Smooth leafy hops on the nose, semi-sweet. Flavours of caramel and leafy hops. Sharp, but short-lived, dry bitter ending. Not too thin. A decent session beer (shared with friends in Tromsø, 02.08.2013).

Bottle from Brewdog Slovensko. Aroma caramel, light hops, very light fruitiness. Clear amber colour. Medium sized white head, very short duration. Taste is mostly hoppy right from the beginning. Hops profile is simple and uninteresting, earthy, with quite stong metallic tang. Finish is plain bitter and metallic.

0.5l bottle. This one is clear dark nutty golden - almost bronze in the glass and it has a medium sized islandy and bubbly white head. Not to inviting on the aroma to be honest. Quite grainy with something bearing resemblance of vegetables. Also traces of both biter nuts and wet grass. Something that's not tickling my nose here, but hard to pinpoint what it is. It's really thin and watery this. Below average on the carbonation. Soft and watery flavors. Feels floral with a thin but still present bitterness. Actually not that bad, but the flavor is really generic and standard. Wish it could be a bit more challenging, but considering the genre and the abv, it's not all that bad. 26.04.2013

500 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 3.5%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of malt sugar and grassy hops. Thin mouthfeel, drier than the aroma made me expect. The flavour has some weak toffee and caramel notes, followed by a fairly distinct bitterness, but is not particularly complex. Still a drinkable "ordinary" bitter.

50cl bottle from Meny, Oslo City. Pours dark golden with a white head. Mild hoppy aroma with malt, caramel and some fruitiness. Medium sweet with a nice and bitter finish. Fairly light body, but surprisingly nice for it’s low alcohol. Very sessionable, although it would get boring after a few. Still very easy to drink and a quite decent bitter.

September 2008: Out of date (by 4 months) brown 500ml bottle, cost me 10 Pence because it was past its best before date. Poured into a straight pint glass, the beer is a clear, bright, terracotta red colour. The head was an off-white blanket of tightly knitted foam. A constant flow of bubbles burst up towards the head throughout the tasting. The aroma was fairly sweet, hoppy and it had a very English Bitter type smell, as you would expect. Crisp, sharp and bitter in flavour, a very good example of an English Bitter. A good feel to it considering the ABV is only 3.6%, sure it is a little watery, but it has a body and the flavours stay in the mouth well after the fluid has been swallowed. Very drinkable and well worth the 10 Pence I paid for it!

Pours a slightly cloudy deep amber with a rocky white head that sticks to everything it touches. Smell is malty sweet with hints of toffee and caramel. There are some floral/earthy hops in here but every time I think I smell them they are gone to quickly. Taste is again malty bready and sweet with caramel and toffee. Some hops do come out in the flavor earthy floral cut through the malt quite nicely. There is a slight mineral element in the taste as well as a hint of butter. Medium to low level of carbonation, sweet sticky mineral mouthfeel with a medium body. This beer flew through my glass on this 98 degree day. This is an easy drinking light ale with enough flavor to keep my attention, to bad it takes a bit of work to get one of these to enjoy at home.
