Fles gedeeld door Roelzie. Het is een helder goudgeel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van mout en gist. De smaak is moutig, zacht zoet en hoppig.

kolor złoty głęboki, lekko i równomiernie zmętniony, piana bardzo obfita i trwała, biała. zapach klasyczny, dość czysty, lekkie przyprawy, zielony pieprz, cukier kandyzowany, belgijskie nuty. w smaku wytrawne, przyprawy, drożdże belgijskie, lekki niedojrzały banan, suszone zioła, cukier kandyzowany, trochę drewna i skoszonej trawy, zwietrzały goździk, dość wyraźny ale nieźle ułożony destylat. goryczka umiarkowana do wysokiej, przyprawowa, alkoholowa, lekko drewniana. w ustach lekko gęste, odrobinę ściągające i minimalnie rozgrzewające. nasycenie wysokie

Donkergeel bier met veel stevig schuim. Smaak is bitterzoet en fruitig met iets van banaan, wat honing en wat kruiden. Heel fijn bier.

From backlog 2009. Got this as a present from my sister in law's boyfriend at the time. Thanks for the bottle and the glass Robin! Sampled from the original glassware. Little cloudy dark yellow beer, creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Decent tripel beer, not too bitter, not too sweet.

Medium high, white head over orangey-golden beer with a (cold) haze. Short, rather sharpish malt nose, caramel malts; bit of (fresh) carrots aroma. Generally speaking very low-key, little nose. Again sharp malts, but with a chemical streak. Solvent, spices, mannah, apothecary,... Safe for the CO², ending drier, every gulp gives a bit roasted flavour retronasal. Warming up, liquorice. Very carbonated MF, seems highly attenuated, more than usual for Van Steenberge. Not my kind of beer. I wonder whether it is Augustijn Grand Cru, but fermented out better than my last sample of that.
