Copper coloured body with a light ruby tint and almost no head at all to speak of. Aroma of malt, caramel, nuts, metal and a touch of hops - not much though. Medium-bodied; Assertive metallic and bloody taste with malt, caramel and a touch of nuts in the main flavours. Aftertaste shows some light hoppiness and a dose of yeast. Overall, a decent, but rather one-sided (malty) beer with some off-flavours (metal) noticeable throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 02-October-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 18-October-2009.

Bottle, bought at QFC in Wallingford, sampeled at Superpower beer session I in Tromsø 13.01.09. Dark amber. Sweet hops and citrus. Lively carbonated. Dry. Great colour and I love the design. A good session beer.

12oz bottle. Orange-brown color, looks filtered. Thick and sticky hops balanced out by a solid malt backbone. Pretty nice Amber, that’s for sure. The black malt gives it a nice mellow underlying choco-roastiness, to even out the Amber malt. MIld, dry, almost peppery, finish. Fresh and nice, another great one from the NW.

Sampled at The Superpower beer session in Tårnrommet part 1, Tromsø - thanks to Elisabeth and Stefan for bringing a 355ml bottle back home from Seattle. There is no information about the alcohol strength on the bottle, but it is supposed to be about 5% ABV, perhaps 5.3% according to some websites. Cool label with Lenin as the cover star. A bit misty, amber-red body colour topped by a low, bubbly white head. Quite substantial aroma of sappy oranges. Some late fruity hops in flavour with hints of caramel beneath. Dry, but short bitter ending. Smooth session beer [13.01.2009]

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy caramel aroma. Malty hoppy bitter flavor with some caramel hints. Has a dry malty hoppy finish wit ha hoppy bitter aftertaste.

On tap @ the brewpub. Pours deep copper with off white head. The aroma is light bringing up hints of maltiness and citrus to pine like hops. The taste has an initial chewy fresh crystal maltiness. The malt profile quickly widens to include some roasty malts, nuttiness and ending with a bit of toastiness followed by a load of pine and tangelo hop notes. It really gets bitter into the finish. Seems like a Mac n Jacks African Amber but not as thick and malty but with bigger hop bitterness. Enjoyable. Be ready for yummy hops in this one.

Bottle. Poured deep red with a thick fast dissipating head. Floral and citrusy aroma, many hops here, Malty refreshing taste, medium body, but a very thin finish. Still quite an acceptable red.

Draft @ TFD: Copper pour with a smaller beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma is mild with florals and caramel malt. Flavor is florals into malty, rye, and floral flourish and remains on the lighter side.

Bomber from Liquid Solutions. Medium roasted caramel aroma backed by citrus hop - both aromas are substantial. Near mahogany color with a beige head that sort of hung in. Near medium body with mild, creamy carbonation. Fair balance between sweet malt and hop. Lots of hop for an amber. Finishes dryish, and the bitter builds along. Good drink.
