Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy pale red with a tiny off-white head. Minerally aroma with dry red berry notes - not really distinctly cherry. Medium body, carbonation is a little low, slightly sweet berry fruitiness with a little yeast and phenols. The alcohol is fairly subdued. Not really that interesting, but at least genuine fruit. 190511

Batch G 2007, 9% ABV
Cloudy orange-amber color; big frothy head; indeed there is a lot of carbonation in the bottle. Strange aroma, fruity flowery and soapy, strong. Good body, good Strong Ale, with some sugars; there is a light fruity character, soapy too; at the end, in the low bitterness, there is a light impression of liquorice. It’s a very good beer, but the soap touch puts me off (6-4-7-3-13=33)

Give it some times, the soap aroma goes away, and leaves the place to a hint of honey and herbs. Still solid mouthfeel and flavor, but not enough bitterness (7-4-7-3-14=35).

Head soon gone; red-hazy amber beer. Very fruity, sour cherries, and old cognac. Serious point of acidity. Fruity, lactic-sour, laurel leaf, very dry finish. Dry, dry-out effect, rather light impression because of the acids; Liked it at least as much as the Barriquée version, even when that makes it more spectacular, short of better.
