We have filled 2 barrels with one of our signature Hungarian cherry pie-inspired imperial pastry sour ale MEGGYES PITE and we have chosen not to release the result as BARREL PROJECT bottles, but in 330ml cans. Obviously, you can expect a thicker and silkier mouthfeel, where the winner of the epic battle between the characteristics of the barrel and the extra added vanilla is no one else, but you!

Tap at MadKert, courtesy of the crew. Pours burgundy with an off-white head. Nose is intense barrel notes, both the bourbon and rum show themselves, combined with cherry. Taste is sour cherry upfront, tart and jammy, and then it’s immediately followed by the barrel notes and some warming sweetness and maaaybe even a hint of vanilla. Closes with a boozy (as in from the barrels) and fruity finish, has a medium to full body and soft carbonation. Lovely dessert beer all in all. BA sours are very much my jam and in this one the barrels are pretty apparent, which is a huge plus.

0.33 l can shared at the Dungeon. Deep ruby, small head. Cherry juice, some toasty notes, candy, tannins, slightly weird combination. Sugary. Plum, juice, some alcohol, red fruit, oak. Medium body, sticky, sweet, light finish.
