Named after the sandstone barn in which the brewery is situated, distinctively coloured by Munich and Crystal malts a cracking stronger ale.

Again we named a beer after our new location and used both Munich Malt and Colour 400 Crystal Malt to give a warm ruby red glow to the beer to help the beer reflect its name. As always the beer is brewed down to a final gravity of 1008, making it depetively (if not dangerously) light for a 4.4% abv beer. Once more a selection of British hops help compliment and lift the red malty ale into a fine strong beer.

Cask at GBBF '22 day 1, 02/08/22. Reddish amber with a good sized off white cap. Nose is malt forward, hint of red berries, caramel, brown bread. Taste comprises caramel, biscuit malts, dried fruits, brown sugars. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Not bad for a red.

On cask at the White Cross. Appearance - amber with a nice fluffy head. Nose - fruitcake. Dried fruit and burnt bread. Taste - more like burnt raisins this time. Bread again. Palate - close to medium bodied with a dry crunchy middle section that continues through the finish. Overall - decent bitter.

500ml Bottle from Booth’s Windermere - Red clear body, thin white head. Nose is dried cake fruits, lots of malt and caramel. Taste leaves a helluva lot to be desired, earthy and not very nice at all. Leave it at that.

Bottle from Tebay Services on the M6. Amber beer with a white head. The label says strong with a tangy finish. Didn’t get either of those. Just a run of the mill bitter.

Cask gravity at the Watford beer festival 2014. Mid amber coloured pour with a loose off white head. Aroma is toffee apple, caramel, tangy. Flavour is caramel toasted grains with tangy toffee apple and touch of acid. Palate is quite sweet semi viscous with some moderate carbonation. OK, bit too much much sugar.
