Bottle. Chestnut brown in colour with a thick creamy head; fruity, burnt caramel aroma; sweet and smooth to drink with a honeyed flavour finishing with a slight spiceiness and a burnt sugar bitterness which leaves a sticky feeling in the mouth. Impressive.

[Bottled, thanks oh6gdx] Mahogany colour. Papery apple aroma. Sweetish and fruity with mellow mouthfeel. Very poorly made I’m afraid. The dominating flavour is paper mash, No bitterness. Looks nice, but looks can deceive.

Bottle. Brown beer with a steady head. The aroma is quite yeasty with limited malt, and the flavour is slightly chemically malty with a tiny bitter finish. Overall a very disappointing beer.

Bottled. Dark amber coloured, mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is malts and caramel with hops also there. Flavour quite the same. Very sweet overall in this also. A bit watery palate, otherwise a very pleasant beer.

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful clear bronze with a small, beige head leaving some pretty lacework. Aroma of roasted malt and alcohol. Full-bodied and sweet with an almost vinous character. Almost no bitterness. Lovely. Thanks to Plimmer Inc. for bringing me this little treasure. 040206

An amber beer with a thin light brown head. The aroma is very sweet with strong notes of caramel, while the flavor combines the sweet caramel with some dusty notes from the hops. Thanks to Kim for dragging this home from Portugal and to Jacob for sharing.

Bottled (BBE 10/2005)
Amber brown color, small tanned head. Malty, slightly alcoholic aroma. Malty, slightly harsh flavor. Notes of caramel, hops in the finish. Carbonated mouthfeel. Quite typical Portuguese dark lager.
