Bottle bought through Systembolaget. forgot I had this one so consumed after the best before date had passed. Pours dark wooden brown with an almost non-existent head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace on the glass. Smell is tiny sweet, slightly sour and spicy with caramel, red wine, lemon zest, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, coriander, dark bread, prunes, hay, dry wood, cocoa powder and hints of compost and glue. Taste is tiny sweet, slightly bitter, tiny sour, malty and spicy with dark bread, cloves, cinnamon, cardamon, prunes, raisins, prunes, caramel, coriander, coffee, dark chocolate, ginger, liquorice root, black pepper, moist wood, hay and hints of red apples. Mouthfeel is tiny round, tiny tart, slightly watery, spicy astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is slightly bitter, slightly sour and spicy with dark bread, ginger, cardamon, black pepper, moist wood, hay and caramel. Very spicy and not really my kind of beer but nothing too scary.

Draught at Bishops Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm, on December 13, 2011Label stated "Brown Ale"Pretty much black color in the light I had, has a hint of dark red in the bottom of the glass when held to the light. Very dark for a "Brown Ale" indeed. Small bubbly tan head. Sweet, sort of acidic taste that I think comes from Coriander/Cillantro or some other spice, also some clove, and smoke. Roasted malt, coffee, acidic spicy aftertaste. Sort of watery thin mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Feels right for the x-mas season. Malty, spicy, vegetable, but unfortunately also a garbage off-scent. Some cocoa/milk chocolate in scent and taste also.

Bottled (thanks omhper!). Very deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is a bunch of spices, some sweet malts and some hops and liquorice. Flavour is spicy, maltyness and some mild floral notes. Rather thin palate after the first spicyness kicks in.

500ml Bottle (Thanks Omhper) - Dark brown with red tinges and a foamy head. Roasted aroma with hints of coffee, malt and dried fruit. Fruity, roasted and malty taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, caramel, mince pies and dried fruit. There is also a faint smoky element to the taste. Enjoyable and interesting. Spicy, fruity and tasty.
