12 oz bottle from Ratman. Thanks Don! Nose of oaky vanilla, chocolate, and a light rum note (I guess Captain Morgan would like this beer). balck with a medium cinnamon tran head. Flavor is rum, chocolate, and light vanilla. Not as complex as most impys but quite decent.

Bottle picked up at Avery today - black pour - small tan lace - nose of rum, cream, light oak, vanilla, a bit of peppery character, moderate tannins - fairly creamy mouthfeel - a lot more subdued than I thought it would be, with only a moderate sweetness, and well-masked alcohol - however, there really isn’t much to rave about hereyour standard strong oatmeal stout is only slightly augmented by dry oak, mild spiciness, and the faintest notes of rum - an odd starchiness develops as it warms - it’s good, but it isn’t the kind of stand out beer you want from such a special release.
