On tap at Bluegrass, pours a clear dark copper amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out dark dried figs and other dark fruits, along with caramel. Flavour is very malty and fruity, with loads of caramel, dried dark fruits, and brown sugar. Sweet and viscous. Pretty nice sipper actually.

Hazy red - amber beer, short pale tan head. Malt and fruits on the nose along with some unexpected herb. Semi dry palate. Mild malt and somewhat spicy alcohol. A little generic fruit and then bitter bubblegum. Bitterish aftertaste. Not bad but the bitter bubblegum starts to grate.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Norm's, 8/13/12

Aroma: The nose is fairly malty and sweet, lots of caramel, some light alcohol, fruit notes, and wood
Appearance: It pours out of the glass with WAY too much head. It is a clear caramel-orange colored beer with a huge (a good 4 fingers of) foamy, beige head, and some foamy, bubble, scatteredly coating lace
Flavor: It tastes heavy malty and mid-plus sweet, with lots of caramel, and some later alcohol flavors
Palate: The body is rather full, it has a lively carbonation, a good amount of heat, and some light dryness
Overall Impression: It takes a while, but once that massive head finally starts to fade, you can actually try the beer. After that point, I found something that was at least worth trying. It is probably a bit overrated, it was fine I guess, but certainly nowhere close to a top of notch example of the style.

Draft. Amber body with orange highlights. Frothy, off-white head fully diminishing. The aroma is heavily malty with notes of sweet caramel, cookie, cereal, toasted grain and nuts. Hint of floral hops. The flavor is lightly bitter and moderately to heavily sweet. The finish is lightlly to moderately bitter and moderately sweet. Medium to full body, slick texture turning sticky in the finish, minimal carbonation. The flavor has more hops than the aroma would predict. Not overly hopped, but more like Bigfoot than a classic barley win. The taste has notes of cherry and orange blended with raspy hop plant.

Bottle at Papsø’s
Muddy dark amber color; almost no head. Strong malt flavor, almost like wort out of the kettle, cereals juice, tomato sauce, an impression of stewed apples and phenol. Strong body; strong malt and caramel flavor, a bit buttery and oxidized; correct bitterness. It tastes a bit like a first try, and it’s imprecise, but still enjoyable.

Bottled. A murky dark amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits, alcohol, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of dust, over ripe fruits, and prunes, leading to a dry finish, where the alcohol tickles the tongue.
