Leifur is brewed with wild Arctic thyme and heather, Belgian yeast and hops that deliver a tingling aroma of crushed pepper and citrus.

Leifur is named after the Icelandic explorer Leifur (the Lucky) Eiríksson, the first European to set foot in North America – almost 500 years before Christopher Columbus. Leifur discovered a lush landscape with plentiful stores of salmon, vines and grapes, and so named the land Vinland (Vineland).

Bottle at home in London - sourced from RMW, Bloomsbury. Pours lightly hazy golden orange with a creamy, white head. The nose holds herbs, thyme, yeast, wheat. Medium sweet flavour with some sugary wheat bread, faint lemon peel, more thyme, light dough, mild bitter hay. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish with a little boozy warmth, more herbs, wheat, some melon, tangerine meringue. Decent overall.

Bottle from Steamworks Liquor Store, vancouver
Hazy light amber color with small head. The aroma is more malty than else, some spices, some vegetable soup, sweet. Smooth, sweetish, lightly fruity, with no bitterness, a bit herbal.
Not too bad, but far from being really interesting.
