Leifur is brewed with wild Arctic thyme and heather, Belgian yeast and hops that deliver a tingling aroma of crushed pepper and citrus.
Leifur is named after the Icelandic explorer Leifur (the Lucky) Eiríksson, the first European to set foot in North America – almost 500 years before Christopher Columbus. Leifur discovered a lush landscape with plentiful stores of salmon, vines and grapes, and so named the land Vinland (Vineland).

330ml Bottle - Light amber with a foamy head. Spice, dried apricot and sultanas in the aroma. Fruity and spicy taste with dried apricot, tea, sultanas and toffee detected. As is often the case it is hard to discern special ingredients (thyme and lavender here) when such a powerful and estery yeast has been used.

Bottled. Hazy yellowish orange colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is fruity, some spruce, yeast and mild herbal notes. Flavour is fruity, citrusy, some yeasty and earthy notes along with mild toffeeish notes. Kind of grainy too as it warms up.

Gylden. Middels høyt skum som daler sakte. Grei krydderaroma. Smaken avdempet. Lett krydret. Hint av frukt. Ok saison. Lett tørr avslutning. Bunnfall igjen på flaska.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.8%. Golden colour, large white head. Fairly strong sweetish aroma, notes of saison yeast, mild spices and over-ripe yellow fruits. Moderately sweet flavour, still tolerably crisp with notes of saison yeast and some pepper. Moderate but noticeable hops. Not bad.

Good dirty off-white head over hazy orangeish beer. Spicy-herbal nose garden herbs, wild fruit nose. Sweetish-spicy, orangepeel, coriander. Flowery, herbs & spices; sweeter warming up. Light to medium bodied, but quite slick. The moniker doesn’t convince - I mean, saisons of the Polar Circle!! The beer, however, is not bad! Thanks M & L V!
