Leifur is brewed with wild Arctic thyme and heather, Belgian yeast and hops that deliver a tingling aroma of crushed pepper and citrus.
Leifur is named after the Icelandic explorer Leifur (the Lucky) Eiríksson, the first European to set foot in North America – almost 500 years before Christopher Columbus. Leifur discovered a lush landscape with plentiful stores of salmon, vines and grapes, and so named the land Vinland (Vineland).

Decent enough head, slightly creamy, orange body with a bit of mist to it. Floral coriander note with hops on the nose, hints of hazelnut. Taste is more floral notes, perhaps lavender, with orange zest and hints of malt. Really cloying mouthfeel and waxy finish that lingers. Need something to wash it out of my mouth.

33cl bottle at Håndverkerstuene, Oslo. Pours close to clear golden with an off-white head. Unusual aroma with some fruity and herbal notes, malt and yeast. Moderate sweet with mild but slightly unusual flavours and some acidity. Quite pleasant stuff!

330 ml bottle. Clear golden body with a huge, creamy and lacing white head. Realtivly strong Saison type aroma, citric fruity, spicy, Belgium yeast and hint of cellar notes or farmhouse (not funky/wild). Flavor is medium sweet, pale malt, some light caramel, spicy yeast, esters, mature fruit and moderate bitterness. Medium body and decent aftertaste in the same direction. Quite pleasant and easy to drink a bit of this one.

330ml bottle picked up at Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Two-finger thick pearl white head, slowly diminishing over a hazy golden body. Dotted spots on the glass. Mild aromas of dough, yeast and peach. Spiced mid-sweet fruity taste, hints of pears and peach, followed by yeast and lemony hops towards the ending. Rather thin palate. Just alright (Tromsø 17.01.2016).

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Cris. Golden with a white head. Spicy and fruity aroma. Flavor is a bit sweetish, fruity, spicy, with a light tart hint, continues drier, bitterish and spicier.

Tap@ Ølhus Stockholm. Poured unclear amber with a thin white head. Sweet, with apricots, peachy notes. Flavor has apricots, sweetness, Belgian hops, floral notes. On the sweeter side perhaps.

Bottle - Light esters, stone fruit and sweetness. Cloudy gold with a rich white head. Sweet, caramel and perfumy. Not bad, a bit fruity but still decent.

12 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral notes, Belgian yeast, and a sort of lemongrass quality. Flavour is along the same lines, with lemongrass, earthy muddy yeast, and bready notes. A big jumble of a mess here. Completely inoffensive, but a real mess and lacking any direction. Not good.
