Bottle from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Poured a deep dark brown colour with a generous tan head. Enticing nose of piney hop, citrus, roasted malts and dark chocolate. Flavour was a decent mix of roasted malt, citrus and some well judged hop bitterness. Considering its strength there is a lot packed in here. This black cat is more than welcome to cross my path any time.

Re-rate 2/29/12: Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Dror. Almost clear brown color with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, a bit of chocolate and some hops. Sweetish flavor, somewhat roasty, with mildly bitter and finish with faint citric notes. Medium-bodied. Decent, but most of the hops are gone unfortunately. 7/3/6/3/13=3.2

Dark brown color. Very nice fruity aroma, I smell apples too with the passion fruit. Dry mouthfeel; the carbonation makes the mouthfeel smooth; the roasted malts are not excessive, while the hopping is powerful. Very pleasant.

KØ11. Mild grassy aroma. Dark brown colour. Small frothy tan head. The flavour is sweetish with a bit of bread. Hint of grassy hop.

Bottled at Københavnske Øldage 2011. Hazy dark brown, small head. Aroma of grapefruit, prickly pears and lychee. Mid sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Some roastiness combines with the tropical fruit hops. Quite elegant hoppy ale with balanced bitterness.

bottled@CPH BF 2011. Deep rubyish amber colour with a small beige head. Aroma is a bunch of fruity and floral hops along with some mild dark dry fruits and slight toasted notes. Flavour is wood, caramel, mild toasted notes as well as some slight grassyness.

Dezenter Malzantrunk mit deutlichen blumigen Hopfenaromen, die aufeinander aufbauen und hervorragend mit dem nur äußerst dezent röstigen Malz harmonieren. Im Mittelteil erhöht sich die Vollmundigkeit, der Hopfen bildet bittere Hintergrundnoten aus. Nun wird das Bier trockener, was sich aber noch im Rahmen hält. Kaum süß, das Hopfenaroma ist weitestgehend in Bitterkeit umgeschlagen. Ausgeglichenes, absolut gelungenes Bier – und das bei 4,7%! 12/11/11/12/11/11

Bottled from Bierkompass. Dark brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of, coffee, black currant, caramel and surprisingly elder flower. Taste, malt, hops, pine, lemon. Nice bitter finish with pleasant elder flower touch. Excellent beer.
