On tap at the brewery. Aroma has a nice oat character with light chocolate, moderate roast and medium light smoke. Not a fruity smoke note, but more of a hickory or mesquite. Pours dark brown to almost black with a medium sized, thick, light mocha head. Good retention and medium high lacing. Flavor has a slight sweetness with some moderate dark chocolate notes. Some moderately strong roast notes that work well with the moderate smoke. Medium light oat notes. Faint fruit esters and a bit of an ashiness. Medium light bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a very nice creaminess. Low, but present astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer with a good smoke character that works well with the chocolate and roast. The oats brighten the beer and make for a really nice mouthfeel.

Tap. Pours deep black, medium tan head, dissipates fairly quickly, nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, hints of smoke, coffee, ashtray. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter, smoke is very much an accent, roasty with coffee flavor and some astringency. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, bit of lingering bitterness. Tasty.
