Cask, half pint, at the Wharf, Aalborg. A clear, golden beer with a beige head of very small size and large bubbles. Too weak on the nose, with fruityness, piney hops, caramel-sweetness and malty notes. Lovely fruity hops in the mouth, with pinecones, citrus and some malty sweetness. Fine bitterness too. Medium body. Fruity, piney bitterness in the finish. Not overly balanced, but tasteful and easy to drink. (081022)

(Cask at Holly Bush, Hampstead, London, 6 Aug 2007) Copper colour with frothy off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus and fresh, slightly rubbery hops. Fruity, malty taste with dark fruit, solid malt foundation and a bitter finish with generous amounts of earthy hops. Fairly dry, with some malt sweeetness. Very fresh and in perfect condition. Quite brilliant actually.

Cask gravity at Catford BF 06. Surprised that I had not rated this before. Was really on its last legs. Copper amber colour with lasting beige head. Astringent hoppy aroma. Good fruit in mouth, some grapefruit, some raspberry. Like many Harviestoun beers has that distinctive hoppiness.
