Fra cask på White Hart, East Cowes, Isle of Wight 24 Jan 14. Ytterst mørkebrun. Lavt kremaktig skum. Aroma av nøtter. Smaken likeså med en undertone av malt. Avslutter litt tørt.

Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 22 January 2014. Poured a clear chestnut colour with a dense, off-white head and excellent lacing. Aroma was typical Scottish real ale malty sweetness with heavy toffee and walnut. Sweetness on the tongue as well; caramel, dates and orange peal. Chewy malt in the finish with fruit cake and brown bread. Too sweet and one-dimensional for my liking.

Cask at Willie Walk. It pours clear deep amber with a medium white head. The nose is sweetish, toasty, nut and caramel. The taste is smooth, light toast, earth, caramel, dark fruits, molasses, jammy berry and slight vinous quality to it. Medium body and soft carbonation. Not a whole lot to it, but it is well balanced and pretty drinkable. Alreet.

Cask. Clear orangey brown with a dense beige head. Sweet, nutty aroma. Light body, soft mouthfeel, nuts, dried fruit and perhaps a peaty touch. Rather subdued bitterness. Quite pleasant. 220110

Caledonian Auld Acquaintance. Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Chestnut colour, lasting beige head. Malty aroma and a Cale beer with no diacetyl!! Decent mid brown malty beer. No huge hop. Perhaps this is a Scottish ale? Touch of sting on tip of tongue on finish. Tastes fresh though. Some toffee. It’s fine. Even some attractive toffee malt.
