Cask. Pours a clear, dark orangey brown with a beige head. Roasted malt, dried fruit with touches of cinnamon and cardamom. Quite full-bodied, hard roasted malt, licorice, dried fruit and wood with a lightly fusty edge. Some alcohol in the finish. 190110

On gravity at the Portcullis, Bristol 10/12/09. Dark brown with a hint of red and slight, off-white head. Aroma of dark chocolate and fruits with a hint of roastiness. Flavour started sweet, with some robust malts, a hint of ash and bitter finish. Very good.

Cask at the Regal (JDW), Cambridge. Ruby port in colour with a ring of cream head; blackcurant aroma; dry and spicy blackcurrant flavour with underlying chocolate malts, unfortunately rather too thin; dry finish. Interesting.
