Bottle. Pale amber color. Malt, hints of caramel, salt and red pepper in the aroma. Initial malt character ruined by a pepper burn that grabs you by the throat and gets more intense by the second. Undrinkable for me.

Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB 12-2017, 33 cl sample (or at least, thats what Im gonna try. Hope I dont regret it). Almost clear golden color, huge rocky head. Aroma is soft spicy, has some grassy and flowery hop, and already shows some tickling hot peppery notes. Soft spicy belgian ale up front with soft earthy bitterness, but then the peppers kick in. First sip is pretty hot and spicy, and my lips are tickling, but it is still manageable. Pepper pushes aside the base beer and is quite strong, though not unbareable. Still, complexity and balance is far gone. A little pepper can improve a beer, but a little beer in liquid pepper is not going to help.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ W van Schaik, Vianen. Hazy dark golden with a white head. Malty fruity aroma. Taste is quite sweet and then the chili kicks in. I love spicy food but spicy beer not that much apparently. Kudo’s for experimenting but in my opinion it could have been better if they held back a bit with the chili’s as it now completely blows away all other flavours.

Bottle. Copper color. Aroma of malt, yeast and some spice. Taste has malt and yeast at first, then the chili kicks in, only to get hotter and hotter, leaving a strong spicey afterburn. Too much heat, can’t finish the bottle.

Draft. Hazy golden brown with an off white head. Aroma of big fruity chillis overpowering light citrus, fruity and yeast notes. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter. Light medium bodied with a huge growing lip hurting chili burn and soft carbonation. Drain pour.
