This is the beverage equivalent of comfort food. Dark and warmly inviting with all the bitterness and hop flavours of a proper 'grown up' lager it also possess a subtle chocolate and toffee flavour that makes it very moreish

Bottle at home in London. Pours a clear, light brown with a wimpy, white head. Some toasted malts, wood and berries in the nose. Flavor is lightly sweet with a weak but pleasant malt base, with notes of dough, toast and dry leaves. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finish is easy malts, faint tang and berries, a bit more bread. Pretty light for a dunkel. Not terrible.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and something burnt, leading to a dry, burnt, and bitter finish.

330ml bottle, thanks to Finn for the share. Clear, amber body. Spotty lacework from a tiny, but lasting, white hue. Plain caramel malts to the nose. Dark, partly brittle, caramel in flavour offset by notes of leafy hops. Rounded dry bitter ending. Average plus (at Finns in Tromsø, 16.06.2011).

20th October 2010. Bottle in the Rake courtesy of Rich & Glynn - Cheers Guys! br> Clear light brown beer, short lived white head. Typical malt - lager nose but mercifully free of the mass produced metallic tang. Light semi dry and semi soft palate. Sweetish malt, a little effervescent fruit. A whisper of marmite. Creamier malt finish with a little sweet orange and minerals. Looks a tad pale for a Dark Lager but not bad.
