Navigation Tavern Autumn Beer Festival 2016. Almost black in appearance. Has a mildly gritty roasted malt aroma and taste, with a sweetness apparent in the latter.

Fra fat på Brunswick Inn i Derby 15 Feb 16. Ultramørk amber. Filmskum. Bra aroma av røstet malt med spor av sjokolade. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken som aromaen. Litt uvariert.

Half pint, well-kept cask at the brewpub. Deep mahogany coloured body. Naked on the surface. Fair lacing. Smooth dark malty nose. Mid-sweet taste of brown and black malts. Slightly roasted ending. Pretty nice low alcohol porter (Derby 20.02.2015).

Cask-conditioned at the Derbyshire beer festival, Seven Stars, Bristol 6/12/10. Near black with a touch of red and decent, off-white head. Sweetish fruity aroma with a touch of lactose and roasty malts, Flavour of milk chocolate and berry fruit with a dryish finish. Good, but as others have noted, lacking in oomph.
