Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading. Amber with a trace of a cream head, leaving plenty of lacing; citrus aroma; fruity in the mouth with lots of orange, and an almost marmalade-like sweetness; however there is a firm lasting bitter finish which cuts through this. An excellent example of a golden ale.

Cask @ Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. Hazy pale amber colour with a small white head. Fruity malty aroma with some hoppy hints. Sweet malty flavor with some fruity hoppy hints. Long bitter aftertaste.

[Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen] A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet combined with a weird acidity, and some kind of herbal note. The flavor is sweet with light diacethyl notes, combined with stronger notes of fruits, like peaches, oranges, and guave, leading to a weird flowery hoppy end. I’m disappointed in this beer compared to the rest of the West Berkshire line-up that I’ve tried.

Cask at Merton Beer Festival, Oxfordshire, July 7th and 8th 2006. Golden beer, quite pleasantly hoppy, didn’t appear to be as lagery as it is made out to be quite dry bitterness lingers slightly.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 06. Amber beer. Not much of anything. Some hop, some toffee. Actually this got better as I sipped it. I don’t normally like toffee dominated bitters, but this one worked
