This 2010 came from Bine and Vine.
Pours a murky brown with a small head of off white foam. Oh, there was a hiss when I popped the cap.
The smell is malty, woody, noticeable oxidation, astringent bitter notes.
The taste is kind of bitter, woody, malty, definite oxidation, hint of a tart note. Malt is definitely making it's move into Barleywine territory.
Full body, carbonation is crisp, my second bottle of the 2010... and most likely last.

Sample during Blarney Wine Festival on 03/17/2012. Clear dark amber color with a medium frothy off-white head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Sticky small patches of lacing. The aroma consists of roast malt, caramel, fruit and hops. Medium to full body with flavors of caramel malt, ripe fruit and piney hops. The finish is malty up front with a piney hop aftertaste. Still a good Barley Wine after a couple years in the cellar.
