Bottle from Vine & Bine, Solihull. Pours near black with some red hue and nice beige top. Aroma has roast, dry nuts, light brown sugar and oats. Taste is quite roasty with somewhere between charred wood and coffee, hint of blackcurrant, liquorice, pepper. Enough sweetness to balance. Mid bodied, quite drying. Very good stout.

Thanks Simon. Great roasted toffee nose. The beer starts smooth, slightly sourish with a great dry malty roasted depth. Deep roast, smooth mild, easy to drink, dry bitter. Very great deep dry roasted sessionable beer.

Cask at Creaky Floorboard, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small foamy tan head and good lacing. The aroma has roasted malts and oats plus hints of lactose. In the mouth it is rich, smooth and creamy. Flavour to start is roasted malts, chocolate and treacle. Later old English spangles, liquorice and hints of coffee bitterness come through as well. Finish is quite bitter. This is absolutely gorgeous !
