Bottle shared. Really nice label with a couple of ducks in mid flight on the edge of a foreboding looking pond with a grim dark cloudy sky, industrial buildings in the background and yet nice refreshing natural reeds in the foreground. Really solid label design overall. Maakun will say it’s shit, but it’s not, it’s really good. The beer itself is black with a medium tan head. Aroma of roast, light dark chocolate, slight yeast, overripe dark fruits, malt, caramel and toffee. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle shared thanks to kermso. Stupid label with geese or ducks. Kermis will love it of course. Almost black with big beige head. Old coffee, hazelnuts, light mineral, roasted malts, soft licorice, some toffee and dark chocolate. Light sweet and under medium bitter. Medium bodied with a bit watery feel.

33 cl bottle @ home, bought a a Lille market over a year ago. Black color. Thick, dense beige head with long retention. Aroma’s: red fruit, a bit roast. Retronasal there’s more roast, but still fruit as well, light sweet. Flavor is light sweet, light roast, coffee-ish, light fruity. Light to medium bodied. Short finish, with some roast. Decent, but more a Schwarz than a stout.

Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 24.03.15. Black. Pale brown head and lacing. Aroma of roasted barley, sweet dark chocolate and coffee. Similar taste, also with vanilla. Fine aftertaste, with vanilla and dark chocolate. Perhaps a bit waterish and overcarbonated.

Bottle from Auchan supermarket in Calais. Ruby-black with a craggy beige head and a very light but prickly fizz. Creamy chocolate Horlicks to the front with a bit of black coffee, a waft of smoke and a slight sour and metallic note. Maybe some blackberry too. Sweetish up front but drying in the finish. The flavours are a little subdued but yeah, this is not bad.
