Aavistuksen paahtunut, tervamainen, täyteläinen tumma savuolut. Oluen jälkimaussa sopiva katkeroiden puraisu. Oluen savuisuus saadaan aikaan savumaltaista.

This is a well-crafted smoked beer version! Palisander in colour. Off-white head. Smoked bacon and tang in both aroma and flavour. The rich taste is also spicy and contains tar, wood and roasted malts. Medium to full palate (draught at the brewpub 06.10.2006).

(Draught at GBBF, London, 2 Aug) Colour is dark brown with ruby hints, off-white foamy head. Nose is malty and smokey with notes of wet ashes and burning birchwood. Taste is malty and smokey, rather sweet with notes of dried, smoked fruit, apricots, prunes and juniper berries. Oily texture, medium to full body. Very well balanced. A nice surprise.

Draught at GBBF 2006. Attractive deep mahogany colour with no head. Bit of TCP aroma, bit of smoke. OK in mouth, bit too medicinal. Finish has some graininess. Not a massive fan. Smokiness is nice but the TCP aroma and flavour puts me off.

[Draught at GBBF] Clear nut brown. Junipery smoke aroma. Dry and soft. Dominated by wood, smoke and licorice with some light grassy hops. Odd, attention craving yet balanced. The smokiness seems surprisingly junipery for a beechwood smoked beer.

Dark copper brown, small brownish head. Goof smoked ham aroma like in good Scherlenka. Lighter than its German companions. Good smoked (Bamberg smoked malts used here) - malty flavor. Excellent easy to drink rauchbier.

Draught. Ruby red colour, white foamy head. Aroma is mostly roasted malts, bitter hops and some hints of smoke and berries. Sweet flavour, of roast and malts. Seome smokeish notes also. Quite wellbalanced, but I waited for something like Schlenkerla though, so I was a bit disappointed. Dunkel meets smoked.
