The Latin name for hops is Humulus Lupulus, and when we decided to brew an ultra hoppy Double IPA to celebrate the brewery’s anniversary, Humulus Ludicrous was born. Pale two-row, crystal and Munich malts form the firm malt base with thick, nutty flavours. We add a stupid amount of Centennial and Cascade hops during the brewing process and finish with running the sweet hot wort though a hopback (stuffed with more hops) on its way to the fermenting vessel. But, we’re not done yet! Three separate dryhop additions take place as we move the brew through to the aging tanks. The result is a beer with unrivalled grapefruit and orange rind aromas with a bittersweet malt finish.

Amber colour with a slight haze. The aroma is foresty, caramelly and earthy with a hint of citrus. The flavour is resiny, limey, with canteloupe/melon notes. Good depth of bitterness adds punch to these fun flavours. Nice work!
