A ruby coloured ale. Fruity on the nose. An initial bitterness on the palate which then leads to a cherry explosion on the back of the tongue.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Deep golden amber in colour with a thin cream head; aroma of purple fruit and demarara sugar; soft and grainy in the mouth and surprisingly full bodied, with a Barley Wine oily feel, some caramel sweetness but nicely balanced by some sour grains; the finish is dry and smooth and overall this was much more than I was expecting.
