Bottle. Had this at Will's do but was smashed. Have better memories of it from that night. The second bottle/time, spicy boozy aroma. Strawberry hints. Taste is full on whisky with little hint of the strawberry. Hot booziness. Overwhelmingly so. Fun but not very sophisticated. Raw and rough.

Bottle into a tulip showing moderately filtered pale amber with half a finger of tanned brown foam. The nose shows moderately intense notes of very sweet malts. The palate is medium bodied and lightly carbonated. Very sweet malts (cloying) throughout with very light malts in the background. Mild alcoholic spiciness and a light out of place hoppy bitterness on the finish.

8 3 7 3 16 Bottle, shared at July THT, in front of Kwartje. From an ip-trade in Tokio with TimE. Murky brown color. Rocky off-white to beige head. Aroma’s: sweetish, fruity, wood. Retronasal it’s sweetish, alcohol, fruity, wood, light perfumey (from the strawberries I assume). Flavor is light heavy sweet, fruity. Strong alcohol feel. Full bodied. Finishes with fruit, fruity sourness and sweetness. Rather sweet , but quite nice.

Hazy dark amber. Sweet bourbon nose with oak and vanilla, strawberries with some brown sugar. Full body, malty lots of bourbon, smooth, low carbonation in the mouth. Very sweet. One of the sweetest beers I’ve ever tried, but has great potential to age and not as rough as people said. Good stuff

An opaque musty orange with a fizzy beige head. The aroma is bourbon, oak, chocolate and a bit of strawberry. Prickly carbonation, light bodied the taste is oaky caramel/chocolate, molasses and strawberry jam. Pretty nice, it’d have scored higher if it looked nicer. Many AJB beers have been milky messes while this one was more muddy orange in color. —-drunk in 2023—- 3.5—>3.9 AJB #9 Strawberry Barleywine 11.5% Aged over 8 years now! Murky reddish brown with light beige foam. Big malty sharply boozy aroma, very malt forward with the strawberry coming through in the finish. Big malty oaky bourbon sweet oaky goodness with maple, medium bodied but surprisingly dry. This is tasting really great.
