Gravicask at Tuckers Maltings Beer Festival. Clear amber body, dissipating off-white head, fragile lacing. Malt-fruity aroma, caramel and apricot. Bread, noble hops and dried fruity flavours followed by a bittersweet tail. Quite alright. (Newton Abbot 28.04.2017).

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Getting nil aroma over woodsmoke. Light chestnut. Thin but healthy white head. Light sweet, with light bitterness underneath. Malt and sugar. However as I consume more it develops more character, a citrus tang. Light bodied. Watery. Limited carbonation. Abrupt finish. Quite like the fact that the pump clip describes it as ’strong’ at a whopping 4.7%. But then it is a good old-school ESB.

Pigs Ear, The Round Church, Hackney. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, bubbly white head. Palate is smooth and a little dry. Mild fine carbonation. Whisper of sulphur, nothing serious. Okay pale malt with juicy citrus. Little orange and orange marmalade. Whisper of lemon. Light dry finish. Not bad.
