Carried home from Rome to share at a Minnesota tasting. Personally recommended to me by John, this was a good choice. Black color. The cap exploded from the bottle, but there is no gushing. Aroma has malt, and also is lightly sour, but this is a light sourness, like a brown ale or porter that has some age on it. Grain the flavor, oak, very dry red wine.

Bottle. Sweet-tart cherry malt aroma. Dark brown color with moderate light brown head. Sweet-tart brown sugar and cherry malt flavor. Nice body and smoothness. A very nice beer - definitely worth a trip to Johnny’s.

Shared by JK at Skyview’s tasting. Not sure if this was supposed to be tart or sourish, never can tell with the Italians. I did not enjoy that character in this beer though. Its a dar brown color, almost black. Aroma is pear and tart berry over a porter tobacco. Some ash and tea aspects in there as well. Flavor is tart and astringently thin porter. Cool stuff but not for me.

Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours black and opaque with a beige head. Lightly tart aroma with hard roasted malts. Medium body, hard roasted malt, vanilla and then again this light underlying tartness. Some malt bitterness. 260309 and 040610

Black color; creamy head. Nice aroma, chocolate and roasted malt, with a light sour note. Medium body strength, good chocolate flavor and caramel, light residual sweetness and light sourness; light liquorice at the end too; it ends not very bitter, but a bit vinous. Complex, well balanced.
