Small, fast gone whitish head over crystal clear copperish golden beer, lazily carbonated. Pale malts, adjuncts, faraway underdone toast. Again malts, adjunct-ridden, and a light but harsh metallic bitterness in the end. Meanwhile, a short, sweet pineapple flavour, fleeting. Dry, that being the nicest thing I can say about it. Undercarbonated. Piss-poor. And at the same time, the craft beer scene in China is blooming. Txs to Stef!

Zhujiang Gold Lager. Bouteille verte. [notes 2006]

(Bottle - as Pearl River Beer) Pours clear golden with transient loose white head. Slight and not great aroma - cardboard with hints of citrus and perfume. Light bodied and fizzy. Tastes horrible - coarse grain or rice malt, some sugar or maybe artificial sweetener and some metallic bitterness in finish. This is going down the drain, I can’t drink it..

330ml bottle at Sydney Chinatown food court. No aroma, flat beer in green bottle. Zingy in the mouth. Finish is sweet. Inoffensive, good with dumplings!

Pours a typical clear golden color with about two fingers of whitea foamy head that quickly settles down. The aroma is decently strong, but I could only pick up somne sweet grains. The taste is not really nice. Too sweet in the beginning and throughout. Some minimal bitterness in the end.

Rating from 2008: Geruch frisch-süßlich.
--> 8+13+8+8 = 9,35
