We brewed this ale only with the famous sake yeast No. 7 from Masumi Sake in Nagano, Japan. On advice from Masumi’s master brewers we fermented this ale very slowly at low temperatures to bring out No. 7’s fabulously fruity character. This is a beer, but has some flavors found in a sake. A great combination!

Beautiful colour, red brown beer with very weak and beige head. Aroma is very sweet, syrup, berries, aromatic hop aromas e.g. pine needles, alcohol is totally disappeared and it only feels to warming breath. Flavour is also sweet, malty and full-bodied, syrup, some fruits and berries, even more sweetness in the aftertaste. Alcohol is totally hidden, ingredible. Full-bodied and sticky to drink. Sweet with enough of nuancees, pleasant beer; I could try also another bottle.

8.5 fl oz bottle. Pours with a very murky orange body and a largish (for the ABV) bone colored head. Aromas of dark fruits, wood and citrus. A bit musty. Caramel, toffee, candied ginger and alcohol. Fruity and chewy. Flavors of alcohol, a myriad of fruit (lychee, peach, dates, raisins, pluots; really a wide spectrum), caramel and brandy. Really pretty nice actually, but a touch sweet. Complex boozy notes. A bit vinous as well. Medium bubbles, a bit of grappa-booziness, and burn on the back of the throat. Warming for sure. I like it, but can see how a lot of people wouldn’t. Sadly it gets a touch more fusel as it warms.

Flaske 0,25 l fra bestillingsutvalget til Vinmonopolet. Aprikosfarget. Skummet varer noen sekunder etter kvelling - ellers dødt. Deilig søt fruktaroma. Smaken er syrlig frukt. Stikkelsbær & aprikos. Svakt tørr bitter ettersmak. Alkoholen bra skjult. Litt uvariert. KI=7

Bottle. Pours deep amber with a small white head. Aroma and taste has notes of caramel, vanilla and almonds and it gives you a nice warm feeling from the alcohol.

Bottle. Didn’t like this beer. Way to agressive in a alcholic way without any sweetness, hops or... anything really. Still a bit interesting in a monsterous way.

Bottle from Olbutikken. Pours amber red without any head, you can tell from the looks that it is heavy in alcohol. Calvados aroma of apples and alcohol. Heavy taste of apples, cellar (like in aged guezes but thick) and goji berries.
