A light, ruby coloured ale with excellent hop and malt aromas, and a smooth, dry, malty flavour. A real ale that landlords tell us is popular with younger drinkers.

5/10/2023. Cask at The Windmill, Stansted Airport. Pours clear amber ruby brown with a small bubbly/frothy just off-white head. Decent looking pint, if a little underfilled. Aroma is very fruity, malty, caramel, leaves, berries. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness with a slight tart edge. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Light drying bittersweet berry tart finish. It’s fine.

Cask at Butlers Bell, Stafford. Pours a dark copper with a small white head and good lacing. Mainly malts in the aroma, but also traces of coffee, chocolate and apples. Much the same in the mouth, mainly sweet malts but with hints of coffee, ginger and autumn fruits. Finish is malty. I don’t normally like Beartown beers, but this isn’t bad. Not sure it is a bitter though ?
