Flaske på hytta (for ca. 4 år siden, notatet er udatert), kjøpt hos Barley Wine februar -11: brunsvart med kort skum. Søtlig og vinøs, mye sjokolade, vanilje, karamel, lakris (som jeg er glad i) og mørkrøstet malt. Humlen var Northern Brewer. Brygget 20.11.08 og tappet 1.12.08. ABV 10,2. Alt dette iflg etiketten. Ny rating (av samme batch), denne gangen delt med Steven på hytta okt-17. Flasken stod i kjelleren med mye støv på. Brunsvart med kort skum. Delikat portvinsvinøs aroma og smak uten en eneste skarp kant. Sjokolader, lakris, mykhet, mykhet og eleganse. Langtidslagringen har gjort sitt. Opp fra de opprinnelig 3.5.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, Ulfborg 2011. Opaque black with a very thinh brown head. Roasted malt aroma and flavour. Overpowered by licorice (which I don’t like) . Rather thin bodied.

Bottle. Frothy good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter nice flavor. Chocolate and vanilla notes. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. No licorice found!

Bottle 750ml @ TFODRBSG11, Ulfborg
Pours black with a light tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, brown sugar, caramel, chocolate and coffee. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, Ulfborg 2011. Pours black with a small creamy head and lacings. Liquorice and vague roast. A bit of spice. Smooth. Ends dry.

Bottle @ FOneFan. Very dark brown with small beige head. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, liquorice, little vinous and sweet.

Bottled (from Ölkonsortiet, Aalborg). Quite much pitch black colour (very deep ruby red), no head. Aroma is fruits, liquorice, some alcohol as well as mild toffee and slight yeasty notes. Flavour is toffee, liquorice, some dark dry fruits and raisins. Balanced, but a bit thin palate.

Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Dark reddish brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is basically liquorices and malt, quite nice. Flavor is Sweet malt, liqurices, some roast, dry fruit and hops. Balanced between sweet and bitter, alcohol is well hidden. A bit plain, but nice.

Bottle at KØ-2010. Dark amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is licorice, cellar. Flavour is dry, sweet, alcohol, roasted malt, licorice. Medium body. OK beer.
