Soapy nose with grassy hops and light DMS. Over the palate came grassy hops, DMS, pale malt, hay and soap. Medium plus bitterness and dry.

Hübner-Bräu Zwickelpils, vom Faß im (trotz Corona gut gefüllten) Biergarten der Brauereigaststätte in Wattendorf. - Orangegold, leicht trüb. - In der Nase sehr appetitliches brotig-helles Malz, zart toastig, leichte Honignote, milde zitrusfruchtige Herbe. - Antrunk satt brotig hellmalzig mit milder zitroniger Herbe. Füllig, weich im Mund. Im Abgang schön hintergründige orangenfruchtige fränkische Hopfenherbe mit Pfeffer. - Enorm schmackhaftes, solides Lagerbier. Zwar alles andere als ein klassisches Pilsner, aber bei einem so guten Bier sollte man nicht kleinlich auf Stilvorgaben beharren. (1.6.2020.)

Tap @ Hübner Wattendorf. Poured cloudy yellow with a small white head. Lots of lemon, grass and breadcrusty malts. Grassy and oily and really bitter finish. 15-20 % less yeast and this would be killer. The yeast is a tad too dirty also. Floral and rustic and still chuggable.

On tap at the Brewpub. Leicht trübes goldenes Bier mit schöner cremigen Schaumkrone. Geruch getreidig, grasig, leicht hopfig. Geschmack leicht hopfig, malzig, getreidig, angenehmer herber Abgang.

Tapped@Hübner, Wattendorf: Golden with a greenish sheen, hazy, stable white creamy head, hayish strawy nose with a delicate malty base; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; slightly lingering grassy-hoppy finish. O.K., but auite disappointing by franconian standards...

Draught @ Hubner-Brau Wattendorf, Hauptstrasse 28, 96196 Wattendorf, Bavaria, Germany.Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, toasted, light hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
