Aged in large oak casks & re-fermented in the bottle, La Roja is a Franco-Belgian style ale crafted in the Flander’s tradition of aged & blended beers.
La Roja is rich & lush with undertones of caramel, fruit, gentle acidity, & spice. Truly an ale of grace & distinction.
This 20th anniversary commemorative release used a special blend of aged & young beer for a startling complexity.
GRAINS: Pilsner Malt, Pale Malt, Munich 10,
Wheat Malt, Crystal 150, Black Malt, Dextrose
HOPS: Strisselspalt, Tettnang

Shared by sir GoT in Flo-Rida. Generous-sized sample poured back at home a few days later.
Baby Duvel glass.
Opaque, bruin color, light head.
Grape sweetness & tannins, veggy, oak, maybe tomato, some oxidation on the nose.
Buttery, tannic, grape skins, bready mushiness, oily, mellow barrel, stuffy old vin that lingers. Balsamic sweetness.
Kinda good. OG is a better but I feel grateful to have tried it. 3.7
