(On tap @ the brewpub, June 5/23) Pours nearly opaque dark brown with a decent pale tan head and a little lace. Aroma of nice earthy roasted grains with a touch of chocolate, a little dark fruit component, soft spicebox, a little residual sugar, felt quite deep on the nose. Flavour is nice roasty grains up front, again earthy and a touch chocolately with some fruit component in the back, soft spciebox, but becoming rather clean and mineral mid-sip on and washing away much of the teased richness, quite dry, no acidity, a return of some earthy spicebox finish in the aftertaste. Rather light-bodied, fairly softly carbonated, a little watery. Teased more than it really delivered on the tongue, would have liked a little more richness even at 5%.
