On tap at Det Bette Ålhus/Den Bette Ølcafe. As Anker Lente Bok. A creamy white head sits on top of an unclear golden body. The aroma is orangey and lightly spiced, with pale malts and a hint of lemon in the back. It’s very soft on the palate, quite dry, and medium bodied. Oranges, some orange zest, spicy yeast, a nice bitterness and a touch of pale malts and white sugar in the back. Lasting orange dominated finish. Nothing extraordinary going on here, but it’s a tasteful, almost refreshing beer that I wouldn’t mind repeating. But sitting in this northern Denmark beer paradise it would be foolish not trying several others of the 400+ beers available. 160623

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Clear golden colour, lots of white creamy foam. Sweet malty with lots of yeastiness. Harsh bitter finish. Unbalanced. Not very good.

Clear medium golden colour, good two finger frothy white head, diminishing slowly, good lacing. Aroma malty, perfumy, peach, yeast, grass, light herbs. Taste medium sweet and bitter, fruity, malty, lactose, grassy, average duration. Dry bitter finish, herbal notes, medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, nice.

Bottle. Pours hazy light amber with airy but stable white head. Clear aroma of hops, with some needlelike and spicy notes and touches of malt. Bitter, hoppy and needlelike flavour with floral, spicy and herbal notes and malty and fruity touches. Acidic and needlelike aftertaste with hints of coriander. An interesting Heller Bock but more interesting than delicious.

Bottle, 6.5%. Perfumy and soapy aroma. Cloudy yellow colour. Good stable creamy white head. The flavour is malty with some hay and straw, slightly soapy, but tastes all right. Some coriander. Clean lager finish, albeit with a hint of yeast... and soap, perhaps that is why it tastes clean... Interesting.

Pale blond with light haze and lasting fluffy head. Lots of spicy, yeasty notes. Also a dry bitterness in the finish. Amongst the Benelux Lentebieren this is one of the best.

Bottle at home. Slight hazy golden with big white head that leaves some nice islands of foam. Massive coriander up front, cloves, banana, dried orange peel, bit of white pepper. Then some sweet malts, caramel and light walnuts. Taste is mainly sweet with soft bitter finish. Medium bodied with creamy feel and full carbonation. Has a lot of very nice classic Belgian elements, but there’s just too much spices for me.

Helder donker geel bier met schuim. Smaak is licht bitter en zoet fruitig, banaan, en citrus. Smaak blijft lang hangen. Erg goede lente bok.
