Cask, handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks 09.11.11 Pours amber in colour with a slim off-white head. Its starts off quite fruity in mouth, the hops show but could be a little more prominent if you ask me, there is a middling bitterness and a fruity toffee finish. Chap next to me asked to try a sample of it (he drinks the Vale bitter regularly) he didn’t get on with it at all, I can sort of understand why, It’s neither here nor there and seems a bit of a mish mash to me. It’s ok but Vale could & should be a little more adventurous with these monthlies, some are very good but many this included are distinctly very average. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0
