Strange beer, this - hazy gold, looks like a hefe, but with a minimal head - quite a bit of wildflower honey in the nose, along with some tangy wheat notes, a bit of sweet tropical fruit - flavor is much less sweet than anticipated - there is some earthy homey flavor, but the sweetness is only moderate up front, followed by some dry, nearly sour flavors - a bit yeasty on the tail end - light citrus - finish is oddly spicy, but it kind of works - odd, but fairly good.

Bottle @ home- picked up a six pack at Mr. B’s in Denver. Very uncharacteristic of me to pick up a six-pack of a beer that I haven’t previously tasted (update: I guess I tried it at the brewpub two years ago and gave it a 6/10), but I’m attempting to wean myself off of the $30 bourbon barrel such and such of the week beers. Their other products that I’ve tasted have been good, so I’m hoping for another winner here. On to the review! Hazy golden orange appearance with a creamy tan head. Spicy, sweet honey, potent yeasty, somewhat herbal/floral, wheat malty aroma. Nice so far. Tangy honey, somewhat dry, yet sweet and spicy yeasty, wheat malty, somewhat fruity flavor. A little cloying and the honey content gets a little old after a while. Not bad overall and honestly, I bet this could do well in a can and marketed at the summer, camping/boating/outdoorsy crowd. Nothing overly special but it is better than 90% of the wheat ales out there these days.

Cloudy yellow. Yeasty nose is footy, yuck. The palate is a bit funky as well, with just a hint of wheaty character. At the low end of drinkable, what with all the unclean notes.

12 oz, bottle got in a trade with Sledutah. Used a Weizen glass. Nice presentation of hazy straw gold ½ thick creamy foam that did leave good lace. Not much aroma but a good flavor of honey, sweet wheat and a light floral hop. Nice for the style and a good thirst quencher with a high amount of drinkability. I would recommend a fresh bottle as this one clearly was.

Bottle from Liz. Pours hazy pale gold with a foamy white head. Bready aroma. Med. body; frothy carb. Flavor is bready with something that might a touch of honey. Certainly not very sweet. Dry even. Not a bad wheat beer.

Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, straw, and fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and a bit of wheat, leading to a fruity finish.
