Green Machine is our cherished house IPA. Brewed with American barley and a touch of wheat. Hopped with our favorite American and Australian varietals, and fermented with our house yeast. Notes of citrus and grapefruit accompany a soft, pillowy mouthfeel.

Good old style IPA. Solid bitterness not a fruit drink or gimmick.

Ever so slightly hazy deeper golden and light copper coloured body with a thick-ish three centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of fairly deep grassy and herbal hops with a dash of apricots and even oranges, but some noticeable alpha acid bitterness is here from the hops with some lighter wheat malts here as well. Medium-bodied; Rich malts show at first the provide for a good backbone before the grassy and quite herbal hops hit right afterwards and leave a great bitterness at the end with only a faint touch of the fruits as well. Aftertaste shows more of a robust picture here with some light sweetness from caster sugar, a touch of a breadiness from the yeast, a good layer of malt and most importantly a good kick of hops, especially bitter ones finish this off nicely. Overall, a robust and enjoyable real IPA that feels a bit more old school than most recently, but pretty clean and easy-drinking with some wheatie touches of the malt bill, but a good bitter hop bite that shows nicely, while providing some sugars and fruits, too, but just not as much as the bitterness. Great to sample and wouldn't mind having this again a bunch of times, should it be easier to find around here! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Trader Joe's in Washington (West End), D.C. on 12-December-2021 for US$1,79 sampled at my house here in Washington on 21-May-2022.
