75 cl bottle, sampled on February 14, 2014.Said to be a 2006 vintage.Clear sraw yellow color, small bubbly head, no legs. Honey, odd, strange scent. Lime, minty, light buttery taste. Lime aftertaste. Medium to light fizzy mouthfeel. Vegetal aftertaste as well. Sort of dry citrus, lemon, lime finish. Not very pleasant for my taste.

Bottle. A slightly oily pour presents a very pale yellow body. No carbonation. The aroma is honey-ish and flowery, the alcohol quite evident but not too evident. Citrus notes and sweetness too. The flavor has honey, heather and a faint citrus not. Warming, medium body. The finish is citrusy and flowery. A quite nice one, sort of refreshing, but not my favorite at all. 100331

Bottled. Slightly dim pale yellow/straw body with no head. Aroma of sweet honey, alcohol, fresh fruit and flowers. Flavor is sweet honey, spices, flower and some kind of harsh bitterness. The body feels a bit light at the first impression, but becomes richer with more honey after a few sips. A bit unusually mead, fruity, spicy and complex. Quite nice and interesting, but not exactly on the spot for me.

Hand bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a pale yellow with a white head. Odd spicy aroma, sone butter and grapes. Thin body, dry fruity notes, again some butter and a citrusy touch. Surprisingly bitter finish. A very unusual Mead. 080210

Bottle from the producer; the typical regional wine bottle with screw-top; it’s also the most expensive mead in the region...
Yellow color, like a Chardonnay. There is a sharp honey aroma, floreal, but also too much chemical, plastic, soap; fresh hazelnuts and heather.
It’s a medium-dry mead, with a moderate honey flavor, sharply floreal, subdued residual sweetness, and luckily less chemical presence, but still the final is rather soapy; there is also a late shade of sweet liquorice root.
Controversial and confused.
