Explosive volcanic opening to this beer lead to a dirty brown pour with crazy tall rocky tan head. The aroma is rich and varied maltiness and has a nice level of nuttiness. It seems like full on chestnut. The taste is much the same with prunes, figs, and raisins that are rich and yummy. It has a spike of alcohol esters that is out of place just before a nice tasty nuttiness appears and helps take this to the finish. This is pretty good stuff.

courtesy of cigarcitybrew. 1/2 of the beer gone upon opening it. The whole beer came springing out of the bottle which is bad considering how hard it is to get the bottle and how darn good the beer actually is. Pours a very cloudy brown, with brownish head. Aroma is loaded with a nutty (chestnut) presence, yeasty and some floral notes Taste, dark fruits, chestnuts, malty. Really enjoyable beer, more goodness out of Italy.

Bottle from mgumby10; nose of spices, caramel, and nuts; cherry brown with a medium tan head; flavor ofa smoky note, dark fruitiness, and you can taste chestnuts and a little alcohol in the finish. Body seems a little thin, but it tastes good and goes down smooth, but different!

Bottle from Capital Ale House - Innsbrook. Shared with Kinz, his wife and friend. Hazy dark brown body with a medium creamy light brown head and just a little bit of sediment. Sweet sugary caramel and wood aroma. Sweet fruity flavor, some light caramel and a very soft nutty ending.

Good reddish tinted dark beer; yellow-brown head. Noga, stilled yoghort, wood & toffee; rubber and polish warming up. More wood in the nose, liquorice, and again a bit rubbery, petro-aromatic components. MF is very burning, full bodied with alcoholwarming. Not really convincing, faulty brew.
